Video of the Day

"You Had Me From Hello" by Bon Jovi

At the mirror you fix your hair and put your makeup on
You're insecure about what clothes to wear
I can't see nothing wrong

To me you look so beautiful when you can't make up your mind
It's half past eight, it's getting late
It's OK, take your time

Standing here my hands in my pockets
Like I have a thousand times
Thinking back it took one breath
One word to change my life

The first time I saw you it felt like coming home
If I never told you I just want you to know
You had me from hello

When we walk into a crowded room it's like we're all alone
Everybody tries to kidnap your attention
You just smile and steal the show

You come to me and take my hand
We start dancin' slow
You put your lips up to my ear and whisper way down low

From the first time I saw you it felt like coming home
If I never told you I just want you to know
You had me from hello

And when you're laying down beside me
I feel your heartbeat to remind me...

The first time I saw you it felt like coming home
If I never told you I just want you to know
You had me from hello

From hello
From hello

A day at Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey

...Enjoying the sun...

...and waves...

...and MORE sun...

...and MORE waves...

...Led to this... a MASSIVE sunburn!

... At least I had fun... ツ

People Change and Forget ToTell Each Other

Broken by Janet Schafner

"Silence has become normal between us. Not the nice kind of silence, or the comfortable kind of silence. But the awkward kind of silence, like between strangers. Our silence is an avoidance of the truth." ~Author unknown~

"We've all grown up, and there's no denying that. But it's tough to tell if in that growing up, we've simply grown apart." Author unknown~

"I thought we'd be friends for many more years, but as time goes on, our pictures fade and all of our good times seem to drift away."

--- Today, I'm thinking people grow apart. It's all a part of life. What never goes away is the love and admiration you have for that person, even if they did something to compromise it.

.... People change and forget to tell each other. ~Lillian Hellman~

Do you ever feel like there is a strain on your friendship of many years?

I've been watching seasons upon seasons of Girlfriends since mid-May, when I received the 1st five seasons as a gift. During an episode of season 3, there was one song that played throughout the scene where Mya and Darnell decided to divorce and I wrote the lyrics down hoping to just type it in a Google search and find the artist and the name of the song instantly (<--- on the verge of being a terrible run-on sentence). Needless to say, that didn't work. Finally, approximately 5 minutes ago, I found it! Yay me! Enjoy!

P.S. Be warned, it's not really a happy-go-lucky song. It's really mellow, which I like.

Hair Growth & Maintenance

Video of the Day:
-- A short review of how to grow and maintain our hair by Kimmaytube. Check out her channel. She really has some useful tips.

I Fear

.... the wretched over-bite. It is so unbecoming!

I also fear a great deal of MANY other things in regards to my physical appearance (i.e. obesity, burning to a crisp during the summer months, etc) . But as I listed those things one by one to my dearest friend, Vanessa, on the elevator of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital last week, a wonderful nurse standing in the elevator said to me: "Oh honey, you're adorable! You don't have anything to fear. You're young!
Live your life!"

Needless to say, I was thoroughly embarrassed as the nurse exited the elevator and Vanessa laughed at me.

Granted, the nurse was right. There are worst things in life to be afraid of.

Ever found yourself walking down the center aisle of Target, then you see someone from high school and you dodge behind the REALLY tall shelves of the Electronics department? Well, I kind of did that today while walking around with my friend, Malinda. She said, "There goes M... S...", and as soon as those words escaped her mouth, we scurried into the closest aisle holding our heads down. Eventually we saw him again and sucked it up and spoke to him. Malinda and I really weren't in a talking mood at the time but I guess it's good to catch up with people sometimes.
